Play-Off - Second Leg
Despite the disappointing scoreline, this
game will live long in the memory. Philip Rogan gave Bangor
a first half lead with a spectacular strike, but was later
dismissed for violent conduct. Newry fought back in the
second half and scored twice to retain their Premier League
status. This was to be Bangor manager Lee Doherty's last
game in charge.

European Cup Winners Cup
After winning the Irish Cup in 1993, Bangor
ventured into the European Cup Winners Cup. In the
preliminary round Bangor were drawn against Apoel Nicosia
from Cyprus. A packed Clandeboye Park saw Ricky McEvoy
put Bangor 1-0 ahead in the first half with a stunning volley
from 20 yards. Apoel however pinched a vital away
goal to level the match for a final score of 1-1. Apoel
won the away leg 2-1 and subsequently went out to Paris

Bangor liftes the League Cup after a convincing 3-0 victory
over Coleraine. Stephen Brown and Ricky McEvoy scored in the
first half and Mark Glendenning came off the bench to score
